Although many Vietnam movies have been made since the mid-70. FORGOTTEN HEROES will stand out as one of the best. This is an action war drama and could be about men in any war, but this moving story unfolds in the jungles of Vietnam and Cambodia.

Sent on a special mission under the command of a young inexperienced Lt. Holden, this offbeat young group of "Kelly's Heroes" types put their lives on the line to rescue and bring out a Russian General, played by veteran movie actor William Smith, who has chosen to defect to the United States.s.

Giving this story its character is the ethnic diversity and the contrasting personalities of the men that make up this unique squad of Americans. Forced into aborting their helicopter rescue at the original pick up zone they must now march through treacherous jungles of enemy territory to a secondary pick up zone.

They become engaged in a grueling, bloody struggle to survive and keep their Russian General alive. Every mile cost lives ... theirs and their enemies... as they are pursued by the viet cong and a squad of Russian paratroopers led by the ambitious zealot Lt. Col. Brazinski. Through it all these "Kelly Heroes" types, destined to become "Forgotten Heroes" maintain their high spirits while doing the best they can. Somewhere along the way this group of brave Americans also discovers that their Russian prize is just as human as they are.
